We live in a fascist country

"When fascism comes to America, it will come wrapped in an American flag"

From Sinclair Lewis' 1935 novel "It Can't Happen Here".

Fascist dictatorships always claim that what they do is for the good of the whole, but really it's the government doing the bidding of corporate overseers. It's plain to see, for those with their eyes open at any rate, that we now live in a fascist nation, no longer living up to the democratic ideals that the founding fathers laid the foundation of.

A democracy is about protecting the rights of the minorities. The continuing harassment of small farmers (a minority), that provide real food directly to small groups of consumers (a minority), is proof of the fascist nature of our federal and state governments. It is only by shining a bright light on these horrendous practices that we will be able to restore our democracy to its full glory.

Hello!

Some of you readers will know me from my occasional replys on David Gumpert's blog, The Complete Patient, others from my Real Milk For Me! website (which these pages will slowly be replacing). And many of you are fellow Family Farms Cooperative members. I invite you all to participate in this experiment, which I have named "Wikluminate". "Wik", coming from wiki, and luminate - "to illuminate" i.e. "to shine light on something". In this case, the objective is to shine a bright light on the federal and state departments of agriculture (for starters). And I chose "Wikluminate" over "Wikilluminate", or "Wikiluminate", to hopefully avoid spelling and pronounciation difficulties.

I invite everyone to explore this site, and contribute to it. This is more than a discussion page, it is a space where you can go in depth on a topic. Whether it be analyzing data issued by governmental agencies, or by presenting your own stories of governmental indifference or bureaucracy, this is your place!

There is even a page that is open to the public (non-members) to edit and comment on. All pages are viewable by the public.

Please start by reading Welcome and Introduction. If you like the idea of this page, and would like to become a member of Wikluminate, please send an email to jcswayzee@comcast.net, and I will send you an invitation to join!

Tips

Before proceeding to your place, please take a few minutes to read these basic tips:
  • Although Netcipia is optimized for FireFox, Internet Explorer (IE) 6 and IE 7 are also supported.
  • To change your password, go to your profile (link at the top of the page), and click on edit.
  • To create a page, either:
    • Type the name of the page in the corresponding field in the right column, and fill in the content of the page.
    • While you are typing your text in an existing page, simply create a link to the new page: although the page does not exist yet (a question mark will appear next to the link), simply click on the link and the new page will be loaded in edit mode.

  • Netcipia places contain two text editors: A simplified editor, that uses a Wiki syntax, and a WYSIWYG editor, that enables code-free formatting. Novice users should use the WYSIWYG editor. Advanced users will benefit from the greater speed and performance of the Wiki editor.
  • By default, a Netcipia place is private and only you can access it. As the place owner, you can invite other users. Simply click on "Members - Invite" in the Toolbox (right column). You can also change the global access rights to a place, and make it public. Simply click on "Place - Right" in the Toolbox.
